I aimed to create a visual diary to represent emotions and experiences, highlighting themes of connection and celebrating impermanence.
I captured a feather for 35 consecutive days, creating one photogram a day, printed as cyanotypes (1842) using sunlight and sewn together - no camera, photographic negatives, digital intervention, or glue used -. Each image in this ensemble captures not only the natural beauty of the feather but also the climatic variations and new tonalities achieved with coffee.
'One Day at a Time' was a finalist for the 2024 Northern Beaches Environmental Art & Design Prize exhibited at Manly Art Gallery & Museum.
